Thewlis Graham Associates is an international Executive Search and Selection consultancy based in London.


They specialise in recruitment at Board and Senior Executive level in the Commercial, Not-for-Profit and Education sectors, and are supported by a wide international network of associate offices.


ABFL works with Thewlis Graham Associates and their clients providing them with post placement feedback for candidates through a one-to-one service.

ABFL has worked with the Geldards LLP public services team for many years.  The Geldards team is one of the largest specialist teams in the country focused on supporting the public sector and organisations providing services to the public sector.


They provide legal advice to central government, to the devolved government in Wales and to over 25 local authorities in both England and Wales together with over 700 public, educational, religious and not-for-profit organisations and institutions across the UK.

ABFL has worked with Public Health Action Support Team CIC (PHAST) since 2008 providing direct consultancy, training administration and project and programme management services.


PHAST is a Community Interest Company that can call on over 100 qualified, experienced public health professionals (Associates). Our Associates provide high quality, innovative, rapid results in consultancy, training, interim staff, and deliver projects related to public health, commissioning, administration and delivery.


  • I asked Mike to help me identify some solutions to some acquisitions that I was involved with in 2010 and 2011 and his advice and network of contacts, some of whom Mike introduced me to directly, were useful in shaping my thinking and consequent actions regarding the work I had undertaken and was strategising for further work going forward.   • Mike Deacon of ABFL enabled Public Health Action Support Team CIC (PHAST) to become a rounded Social Enterprise organisation to sustain the public health consultancy that we offer to the NHS in the UK.  By providing an operational environment and assisting in shaping and organising our processes, the organisation could focus on its core competencies and to grow as a business.  Mike was invited to hold the Company Secretary role as we evolved, which he did until November 2010.  Mike and Marion Deacon at ABFL continue to provide PHAST with consultancy and project management services.
